Models over 40, 50 and 60
Mature modeling for senior models
Most mature modeling is commercial work booked by the brand that needs someone who looks like its customer. Publish one reviewed profile with your age, city, height, day rate and free dates, and brands booking senior models email you directly. No agency board has to say yes first, and nobody takes a cut.
The short answer
Where does mature modeling work come from?
Mature modeling in the United States is mostly commercial: healthcare and pharmaceutical advertising, insurance and retirement services, travel, skincare and hair color, fashion sold to women over 40, and corporate lifestyle photography. Brands book models in their 40s, 50s, 60s and older because their buyers are that age. A lot of that work is booked by the brand or its photographer directly, not through an agency.
Maxgirls is a reviewed model directory for exactly that kind of booking. Your profile carries your photos, categories, city, age, height, day-rate range and availability. A person reviews it before it goes public, and brands, photographers and production teams filter the directory and email you. There is no age ceiling and no commission on anything you book.
A classic agency board, against a direct listing
The middle column describes how mature and classic boards generally work, not one named company. For the named US agencies, read modeling agencies for mature models.

How a mature model agency and a direct listing differ
Where an agency genuinely wins
A classic board in New York or Los Angeles reaches national campaigns and fashion houses that only take agency submissions, and a booker negotiates the usage fee for you. If you live in one of those cities and a board takes you, sign. Plenty of mature models do both where the contract allows. The case for the direct route is strongest everywhere else, which is most of the country.
Modeling jobs for older women and men
Who books senior models, and what the brief wants
The buyer books the age of its customer. That is the whole logic of the market.
| Client | What they shoot | What the brief asks for |
|---|---|---|
| Healthcare and pharmaceutical | Print ads, patient brochures, clinic websites, TV spots | Believable, warm, a real patient at 55 to 75 |
| Insurance, banking and retirement | Lifestyle stills of couples and families | Relaxed, trustworthy, often cast as a pair |
| Skincare, hair color and beauty | Close-ups, before and after, campaign portraits | Good skin, gray or silver hair, minimal retouching |
| Fashion for women over 40 | E-commerce, lookbooks, catalog | A consistent size, posture and a current full-length |
| Travel, cruise and hospitality | Resort and destination shoots, often on location | Active, at ease on camera, free for several days |
| Fitness and active aging | Activewear, supplements, gyms, senior living | Visibly fit, comfortable moving on set |
| Corporate and stock lifestyle | Office, home and community scenes | Natural look, reliability, a usage release signed on the day |
Modeling over 40
The forties are the busiest decade for many commercial models: parents in family shoots, professionals in corporate work, and the first wave of beauty briefs built around mature skin. You compete with fewer people than at 25, because most of them stopped.
Models over 50 and 60
Healthcare, insurance, retirement and travel clients book this range constantly. Gray hair and lines are what the brief asks for, not something to retouch away. Keep your digitals current, because a client who books you from a ten-year-old photo does not book you twice.
Gray hair models
Silver and gray hair is its own casting request in beauty and hair color work. Put it in your headline, and show it in natural light, because hair color is the first thing that shifts under studio lighting.
Mature male models
Older men book for the same clients as women, and often as half of a couple. Healthcare and financial services campaigns cast men in their fifties and sixties all year. A profile with a clean headshot, a full length and a stated city is enough.
Senior modeling jobs, by category
Six categories that book mature models
Mature is not a category on Maxgirls, and that is deliberate. Age is a fact about you that crosses most of the categories, so you list in every one that fits and a booker filters by age alongside it. These six carry the most work for models over 40.
Quote the licence, not just the day
Healthcare and financial clients often want long usage terms. Set your base fee and see what the licence does to it before you reply to a brief.
Day rate and usage estimator
Runs in this browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Your number for the hours, before any licence. Nobody sets this for you and nothing on this site claims to know it.
Put these in the quote too
- The shoot date and the agreed hours
- What happens on overtime, per hour
- The licence in one explicit paragraph
- Payment term in days, and an expiry on the quote
Quote this range
$900 to $1,035
A published range means the first email is about the shoot, not about whether you are affordable.
What these numbers are. The base is the figure you set. The licence multipliers are this tool's own stated bands, printed so you can see the shape of a quote: media 1.0 to 3.0×, territory 1.0 to 2.0×, term 0.85 to 3.0×, exclusivity 1.0 to 1.75×. They are not a survey, an average or a market rate. Maxgirls publishes no rate table and never sees what you were paid. The reasoning behind each line.
Getting listed
Four steps, about twenty minutes
No application fee, no paid workshop, no photo package. Older models are a favorite target for all three, so if a modeling company asks for money before it has booked you anything, read how to spot a modeling scam first.
- Enter your real date of birth Brands filter by age, and the directory works age out from your date of birth so it never goes stale. A client looking for someone 55 to 70 finds you on that number.
- Pick every category that fits Commercial, beauty and fashion together is normal for a mature model. Each category you choose is another search that returns you.
- Upload digitals taken this month A headshot, a three quarter and a full length in natural light, with your hair as it is today. Clients book the person who arrives, so the photos have to be that person.
- Set a day rate and keep availability current Your rate range is visible before anyone writes, so the first email is about the shoot. Availability is one click: available now, this month, or booked.
