A directory is only faster than a casting call if what it stores is structured. These are the fields a published profile has to fill in, which is why a filter here returns an answer rather than an approximation of one read out of a paragraph of free text.

Categories: One or more of the nine; A model who does both commercial and fitness is returned by both filters, because the field holds a set rather than a single label.
City: Where the model works; The filter that decides whether a shoot on a date is possible at all, before travel becomes part of the negotiation.
Age: Derived from date of birth; Stored as a date, printed as a number. It is still right in twelve months without anyone editing anything.
Height: In centimeters; A large share of commercial and fashion work is decided on it before anything else is looked at.
Day-rate range: Published by the model; Visible before contact. MaxGirls never sets it, never suggests it and never takes a share of it.
Availability: Now, this month, or booked; The model changes it themselves and it takes effect immediately, with no review, which is what keeps it honest.
Photos: Private disk, one controller; Anything marked 18+ is served as a separately blurred file until a viewer confirms their age for that photo.

How to hire freelance models without an agency

Search, shortlist, email, confirm. A freelance model is self-employed, so the person you email is the person who turns up, quotes the fee and signs the release. Searching is free for brands, photographers and producers, and nothing is taken out of the fee on either side.

Most shoots that go wrong go wrong on the brief, not the model. Put the date, call time, hours, location, wardrobe, whether hair and makeup is provided, where the images will run and for how long, and the fee in the first email. A model who can quote against a complete brief answers the same day; one who has to ask six questions first often books someone else. How do I hire a freelance model?

How much does it cost to hire a freelance model?

It depends on the city, the hours and above all the usage. Every profile here shows the model's own day-rate range before you make contact, so you can shortlist inside your budget. Do I need a model release for a freelance model?

Yes, for any commercial use of a recognizable person. A model release is the signed permission to use the images for the purposes and period you name, and agencies, stock libraries and ad platforms ask for it. Is it cheaper to book a model without an agency?

Usually, because there is no agency service fee added on top of the model's rate, and the model keeps the whole fee rather than losing 10 to 20 percent in commission. The trade is that you handle the brief, the release and payment yourself. For national campaigns with complex buyouts, an agency still earns its fee.
