No profiles are published yet

The grid only ever shows profiles a person has read and approved, and it never pads itself with people who do not exist, so it is empty rather than filled with stock faces. Here is the shape of a card instead: the fields every profile publishes, and the nine categories they publish them under. Search and filtering work now, and the first approved profile appears here the moment it passes review.

Where a profile can list

A model can list in several at once, and a brand can filter on several at once.

What brands book it for

Lookbooks, e-commerce shoots, seasonal campaigns, runway and showroom days.

The buyer here is usually an in-house marketing manager, a photographer or a production coordinator with a brief and a date, not a casting director. That is why the filters are city, availability and physical criteria rather than credits and union status.

What your portfolio needs

Clean digitals (front, profile, full length, no makeup), two or three editorial stories, one runway clip if you have walked.

Quantity is not the point. A booker opens a profile, decides in about fifteen seconds whether you fit the brief, and then checks whether your rate and your availability make the shoot possible. Everything in the profile should serve one of those two questions.

Fashion model agency

Do you need a fashion model agency?

For runway and high editorial, yes, that is the one corner of the business agencies genuinely control. Show castings in New York run through mother agencies, and most of those boards ask women for roughly 5 ft 9 in and up. Lookbooks, e-commerce, showroom days and seasonal campaigns for smaller labels are a different market: the brand or its photographer casts them, and the model who fits the sample size, is in the city and is free on the date gets the job.

If a fashion model agency near you wants you, read the contract before you sign. In New York the Fashion Workers Act, in force since 19 June 2025, caps a model management company's commission at 20 percent and bans signing fees. Outside New York and Los Angeles, and below the top of the market everywhere, most fashion bookings come from brands who search by size, height and city. A reviewed profile with clean digitals and your measurements answers exactly that search, without a commission.

Questions

How do I find a fashion model agency near me?

Check the agencies in your nearest major market, New York, Los Angeles, Miami or Chicago, and submit through the form on each agency's own site with unretouched digitals. Ignore anyone who asks for money up front. A real fashion model agency earns a commission when you work and does not charge a registration or photo fee.

How tall do you have to be for fashion modeling?

Runway agencies usually look for women around 5 ft 9 in to 6 ft and men around 5 ft 11 in to 6 ft 3 in. Lookbook, e-commerce and fit work is far looser, because the brand books the body that fits its sample. Petite modeling covers the work available under 5 ft 7 in.

Do fashion modeling agencies charge a fee?

A legitimate one does not. It takes a commission on bookings, which New York caps at 20 percent under the Fashion Workers Act, and it never charges a signing fee. Paid photo packages, classes or "registration" required before representation are a sales pitch, and the usual modeling scams start exactly there.

Can you do fashion modeling without an agency?

Yes, for most of the work below runway. Independent labels, e-commerce studios and photographers book lookbook, catalog and showroom models directly. You need clean digitals, accurate measurements, your city and current availability where a client can filter to them. Catalog and e-commerce modeling is where most of that work sits.

Rates in this category

We do not publish a rate table

Every site that prints one is either quoting a survey it will not name or making the number up, and a stale figure does more damage than no figure: it becomes the ceiling a brand negotiates down from. On MaxGirls the rate is whatever the model publishes on their own profile, visible before anyone makes contact, and we never take a share of it.

What actually moves the number is the same in every category: the usage license, the length of the day, the market, and whether exclusivity is being asked for. Those are worth understanding before you set your own range.
