ModelManagement.com is legit in the plain sense: a registered Spanish company, ModelManagement Dot Com S.L., based at the Talent Garden campus in Barcelona, running a real casting board where photographers, brands and agencies post jobs and message models. It is not an agency and does not represent you. It sells memberships, and the question worth asking is whether a paid Premium plan gets a US model enough work to pay for itself.
If you made a free profile, applied to one casting and were then shown the upgrade screen, this is what the site says about itself, what each plan allows, the refund rule you should read before paying, and what members report.
Is ModelManagement.com legit?
Yes. It publishes its company name and registered address, it has operated for years, it runs iOS and Android apps called Model Now, and it replies publicly to reviews. Profiles are moderated: the site says its team will "moderate and categorise your profile" before you can apply to castings. Once approved, professionals can message you, invite you to castings, or book you through the platform with what it calls a smart contract, and both sides can leave reviews.
What it is not matters as much. ModelManagement.com does not negotiate your rate, does not take a commission and does not submit you to clients. It describes itself as an "online modeling community" that helps clients "source models and talents". The Federal Trade Commission's line on modeling businesses is that real agencies "get paid when you get paid". A membership site is paid whether or not you work, so treat it as advertising you buy, not representation.

How much does ModelManagement.com cost?
The Basic plan costs nothing and gives you an online portfolio and one casting application. Everything past that needs Premium, which comes in two plans. The plan page loads its prices in your browser and almost always shows a discount banner ("50% off Premium, flash offer"), so there is no fixed list price to quote. Search-engine copies of that page during 2026 showed Premium Starter at $7.90 to $11.58 a month and Premium Unlimited at $9.90 to $23.17 a month. Check the checkout total before you pay.
| Plan | Billed | Castings | Messages and extras |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | Nothing to pay | 1 application | Online portfolio only |
| Premium Starter | Every 6 months, up front (monthly only through the app) | 5 a month | 30 messages a month, priority castings, pro directory, see who follows you, badge |
| Premium Unlimited | Yearly, up front | Unlimited | Unlimited messages, casting publisher details, Model Academy course, unlimited pro profiles |
Two things in that table cost new members money. First, the cheaper monthly figure is billed as one payment for six or twelve months, so the charge on your card is several times the number on the banner. Second, both plans renew automatically. The site's own help article says you can pay monthly only by buying Starter inside the Model Now app, where Apple's or Google's billing and refund rules apply instead.
Can you get a refund from ModelManagement.com?
Only in a narrow case. The help article on managing your membership says a refund needs all three conditions at once: you ask within 14 days of the first purchase, it is not a renewal (renewals are never refunded), and you have not used the benefits, which it defines as applying to or creating more than one casting in the billing period, or using the secure messaging. In its own words, "if you only meet one (1) condition, you won't be eligible for a refund".
So the refund window closes the moment you use the thing you paid for. Apply to a second casting on day two and the money is spent. To stop the next charge, go to your dashboard, open Subscription, choose Cancel subscription and downgrade to the free plan, then keep the confirmation email. Several recent Trustpilot reviews are titled "unauthorised charged", which is what an unnoticed renewal usually looks like from the member's side.
ModelManagement.com reviews
On Trustpilot the site is rated "Great", 4 out of 5, and the company answers most reviews, positive and negative. Smaller review sites score it lower; smartcustomer.com shows 2.7 out of 5 from 34 reviews. Read the recent reviews rather than the score, because they repeat a small number of themes.
- Invites and responsive support. New members in September 2026 described receiving several casting invitations and quick answers from the support team.
- Few paid jobs for the price. An August 2026 reviewer who canceled Premium wrote that there were "no real opportunities" for her.
- Unwanted requests. The same reviewer reported "weird" offers asking for free nude pictures. The company replied that members should report any such casting or message.
- Response-rate pressure. Another August 2026 reviewer was warned that her response rate could suffer because other members did not reply to her.
- Rejections and verification. Review titles include "Rejected for No Particular Reason" and "Verification does not work".
None of that makes it a scam. It describes a large, open, international board: many posts are unpaid collaborations or time-for-prints shoots, the paid castings are spread across many countries, and you compete with every other Premium member who applies. A model in Los Angeles or Miami will see far more local castings than a model in Omaha.
Is ModelManagement.com worth it for a US model?
It can be, if you treat it as a cheap way to apply to castings and you check the board for your city before paying. Search the castings for your metro area for a week on the free plan. If you see several paid jobs a month that fit your look, Premium Starter is a small bet. If what you see is mostly collaborations, unpaid tests or castings in other countries, Premium will not change that, because it buys more applications, not more jobs.
| ModelManagement.com Premium | Commission-only agency | MaxGirls profile | |
|---|---|---|---|
| How you get work | You apply to posted castings, and members can message you | The agency submits you | US brands and photographers search by category, city, size and rate, then email you |
| What you pay | 6 or 12 months up front, renews automatically | Nothing to join | $19 a month, cancel any month |
| On each job | Nothing | Commission, usually 10 to 20 percent | Nothing, you keep the fee |
| Coverage | Worldwide, many unpaid collaborations | The agency's market | US cities |
| Promise of work | None | None | None |
The difference that matters is direction. On a casting board you go to the work and compete for each post. A lot of US commercial, catalog, fit and lifestyle work is never posted as a casting at all: a clothing brand or a content studio searches for a model who fits and emails her. That is how modeling for clothing brands mostly works, and it is what a searchable profile is built for.
Questions to answer before you buy Premium
- How many paid castings in my city did I see this week? Count them on the free plan first.
- What will the card actually be charged today? The banner is a monthly figure; the charge is six or twelve months.
- When does it renew? Put the date in your calendar the day you pay.
- Am I still inside the refund rule? After a second application or one message, you are not.
- Is this casting paid? Read every post for a rate and usage before you apply; a collaboration is not a job.
Any membership a working model buys to find work is a business expense, so keep the receipt. A receipt scanner that pulls each amount into a spreadsheet saves sorting them in April. For how the other paid sites compare, our modeling websites price comparison sets Backstage, Casting Networks, Project Casting and ModelScouts side by side, and is Backstage worth it covers the biggest US one in detail.
What to do instead of paying for a year up front
Take three daylight photos, write down your height and every size a client would ask for, and pick a day rate you can say out loud. That is enough to apply anywhere, and enough for a brand to book you. Then put it where US clients look for models without posting a casting. Freelance modeling without an agency is how most commercial and e-commerce days are booked, and a MaxGirls profile shows your photos, categories, city, rate range and availability to the brands and photographers who search for them.
It takes about twenty minutes to create your profile, a person reviews it before it goes public, and you can cancel any month.
Where this applies on MaxGirls
Your day-rate range, your categories, your city and your availability sit on your own profile, visible to a brand before they contact you, and MaxGirls takes no share of anything you book.
